The end of a chapter:

The Board of The London Printworks Trust announces that as at 31 March 2012 the organisation will transform. Following 20 years of commended arts delivery in Brixton supported by Arts Council England, it was with some surprise that the organisation was regretfully named as one of 200 arts organisations to loose its primary funding.

In response to the cuts in November 2011 London Printworks Trust launched the audacious global fund raising campaign Counter Feat. Celebrating an auspicious alumnus of creative people linked to the organisation, the international press and online interest played a key role in the organisation's ability to develop a new future for this legacy.

The Board would like to thank the many funders and supporters of the organisation for their generosity, especially through Counter Feat recently but in many other ways over the years. The Board also acknowledges the energy and enthusiasm of the past staff, volunteers, trustees, and freelancers who have made this amazing textile workshop facility and expertise available to so many members and users over the last 21 years.
