On Tour: Departure - New explorations in print
Building on the hugely successful Departure 06 and 07 exhibitions that formed part of the London Design Festival for both years, London Printworks Trust showed Departure: new explorations in print, an interactive exhibition that explored a diverse range of approaches to print practice from Gunilla Klingberg's kaleidoscopic digital animation featuring logotypes from a shop near you, to Sebastian White's interactive invisible ink wallpapers.
Departure at the Hub - the national centre for craft and design in Sleaford, Lincolnshire brought together for the first time two years of new and commissioned work by London Printworks Trust. Incorporating pieces by national and international artists, Gunilla Klingberg, Sebastian White, Fiona Zobole, Rhian Solomon, Action Time Vision, Linda Florence, Simon Elvins and Christopher Pearson, the exhibition explores a diverse range of approaches to contemporary print practice.
The Meet the Designers event gave audiences at the Hub an opportunity to find out directly from the designers the concepts behind their work and the technology used to create it, and featured Big Seb's Paint-In - a massive magic colouring wall made especially for the opening night out.
The exhibition opened at The Hub on 12 April and continued until 15 June 2008.
