Artist Anne Marr creates textile solutions for everyday problems. Her work
is based around a strong interest in 'ordinary' objects and her observations
are transformed into humorous objects that support individuals in their
everyday activities, habits and customs. Marr's work includes shopping trolleys,
easypeasy eye masks and DIY wallpaper. It raises questions about the cross
over between art and crafts as well as playing with contemporary media aesthetics.
The exhibition will feature a new installation - a large-scale
wallpaper made of thousands of Velcro® brand pieces, inspired by a traditional
cross stitch pattern. The dotted pattern of the wallpaper resembles the
pixalated interface of computer games but at the same time makes references
to traditional crafts. Visitors will be able to manipulate the work, change
the piece and by doing so create their own patterns. Super
