Developments
Parallel Developments was a collaboration between Melbourne-based curator Stewart Russell, the Florence Broadhurst Estate, Tiwi Design, the Country Women’s Association and London Printworks. The show offered an insight in to the extraordinary life and work of textile designer Florence Broadhurst who was responsible for a significant collection of designs for domestic wallpaper over a 30 year period between the 1950’s and the late 70’s. Tiwi Design are experiencing a new wave of interest and critical appeal in Australia and Parallel Developments showed new work made in partnership with the long-established and largely conservative Country Women’s Association. |
